A preposition is a word—and almost always a very small, very common word—that shows the direction, location, or time, or that introduces an object.
The Function of Preposition:-
- Fuction of place:- Prepostion tells you about the object and Place of an object.
example:- He is standing between buildings. (Between– preposition)
(around, about,across,etc)
2.Function of Manner:- This tells us about “How” a task is performed.
example:- the task was done with neatness.
3. Function of time:- Some prepositions tell you about time.
example:- (at,on,since,for,during,from,etc).
4. Function of Cause:- it tells us about “Why” a task is performed.
example:- she is suffering from fever. (form:- preposition.)
5. Function of Possession:- It tells you about the belongingness or the ownership or something.
example:- This car belongs to you.
6. Function of Agency:- When an object performs a task. it shows the function of agents. an agent can either be a living Being or a Non-living
Being. (with, in,By)

Rules of Preposition
1)Subject + verb + object + verb + preposition.
Ex:- I gave her a pen to write. with a paper to write on.
2) Never use a single preposition for two objects.
Ex:- 1) He has a natural different from.
2) and inferior to his brother.
3) He is neither sorry Nor ashamed of his mistake.
3) Never place prepositions with an adverb.
Ex:- 1) Raju deals firmly and boldly adverb
4) Never use as a preposition after a transitive verb.
( redouble, assemble, enjoy, resist, etc )
Ex:- 1) He ordered a plate of rice for me
2) The army attacked the enemies.
5) Use an objective case after a preposition.
Ex:- Everything is one for you and in me thus village.
6) Do not use a preposition with words exposing time and place.
Ex :- ( last week / last months / bit inside / abroad /min etc. )
ex :- 1) please wait a min for me.
2) the president went abroad.
